James Millbank Quits The People For The Mail On Sunday

Newspapers The People‘s senior reporter, James Millbank, is set to leave Trinity Mirror to take up a similar role at the Mail on Sunday from January.

Millbank started working for the People as news editor in 2006, after 10 years at the News of the World.

Talking about his new position, Millbank said: “It has not been fully worked out yet but I will be doing reporting in a senior role and it involves a mix of different things.”

During his time on the Trinity Mirror title, Millbank worked on a number of high profile stories, including the Paul McCartney and Heather Mills break-up.

He also fronted various investigations while working at the News of the World, such as the private life of Charlotte Church’s stepfather and claims that a former Big Brother contestant was working as a prostitute.

Millbank said he would miss his colleagues at the People, especially the editor and deputy editor.
