Q Magazine Unveils New Look

Q's New Cover Q magazine is set to unveil a “stylish” redesign with its November issue, which is due to hit the news-stands on September 30.

The new look magazine was devised by Q‘s editor-in-chief, Paul Rees, and will be the first to be designed by the new creative director, Ian Stevens, who joined the company from Empire magazine in July (see Q Magazine Promotes Rees).

Angus Young, the AC/DC guitarist, will be the first cover star, as Q runs the band’s first major interview in eight years.

The redesign also encompasses a number of new features, including contributors such as Billy Bragg, the Q challenge, a Rock ‘n’ Roll travel section, the top 10 monthly ‘Must Haves’, ‘A Round With’ the Sugababes and, an all-new entertainment section.

However, Q is keen to keep music at the core of the magazine with key features such as the month’s essential 50 tracks – ‘Q 50’ – and the ‘Q Review’.

Bauer Media hopes the redesign will reinforce Q‘s “credentials” and set the magazine apart from other music titles.

Rees said: “At a time when people have more choice than ever, we have been mindful to give readers not only more of all the things Q‘s reputation has been founded upon but also more in general.”

He added: “In doing so, I believe Q now offers a genuinely different take on music and entertainment in general, befitting its status as a market leading magazine.”
