Emmerdale Tops Soap Ratings War

Emmerdale ITV1’s Emmerdale special, ‘You’ve been Framed’, pulled in 5.3 million adult viewers ahead of Eastenders 4.8 million last night.

Emmerdale attracted a 32.9% audience share between 7 and 8pm, almost 5% more than it’s BBC One rival soap, which was on between 7.30 and 8pm.

The one-hour episode centered around Viv trying to clear her name in the latest village scandal, by getting a tape recording from her private investigator.

ITV1’s new series, Send in the Dogs, followed Emmerdale and got a respectable 4 million adult viewers between 8 and 9pm.

The four-part series follows the work of Britain’s police dogs, with yesterdays episode focusing on tackling crime in London.

BBC One attracted the highest number of viewers at 9pm with the second episode of Bonekickers, pulling in an average 24.6% audience share with 5 million adult viewers.

Channel 4’s popular three evening programmes, 10 Years Younger, Gordon Ramsay’s F Word and Big Brother all got more than 2 million adult viewers last night.

Big Brother topped the other two with 3 million viewers at its peak between 10.15 to 10.30pm, an average of a 17.4% audience share during the one-hour show.
