The Advertising Association has appointed Tim Lefroy as its new chief executive, to replace Baroness Peta Buscombe, who is set to join the Press Complaints Commission next month.
Lefroy will take up his new role on May 5, after stepping down from his current position at the management consultancy Radical Communications.
At Radical, Lefroy has worked on many consulting projects for both private and public companies, including Channel 4, GSK and the Ministry of Defence.
Prior to that, he worked at Cadbury and Gillette, before becoming chief executive of Young & Rubicam.
In addition, Lefroy is an independent director of ATVOD (Association for Television on Demand).
Chairman of the Advertising Association, Mark Lund, said: “Tim has experience in, and support from, all over the industry and we can look forward to a continuing high-profile and an effective promotion and protection of the business.”
Lefroy added: “Peta has shown there is a vital job to be done by the Advertising Association. She leaves a great team of people led operationally by Rae Burdon. I very much look forward to working with them.”
