IPC has appointed GQ magazine’s Lewis Tucker as the new advertising director of its fashion title InStyle.
Lewis, who joined GQ in 1999 as fashion advertising manager and has since been promoted to advertising director and associate publisher of GQ Style, is set to take up his new position at InStyle on May 5.
Southbank’s group advertising director, Alex Russell, said: “Lewis is steeped in the worlds of fashion and luxury goods and his experience is perfect for InStyle.
“The brand is in a great position and outperforming the market, having just posted its third consecutive ABC increase. The combination of Lewis’ talents and our brilliant editorial team, headed up by new editor Eildih MacAskill, will ensure that InStyle is set for another successful year.”
Lewis added: “It’s incredibly exciting to be joining a magazine that has such an exceptional talent for achieving results for its advertisers.
“Astute retail awareness and generous helpings of Hollywood glamour make InStyle a relevant, modern and aspirational title. I’m looking forward to working with such a fresh and accomplished team.”
In the latest ABC release, InStyle posted a year on year rise of 0.8% to more than 180,000 copies (see ABC Results July-Dec 2008:Glamour stays on top of the women’s monthly sector).
