That’s Life Magazine Launch

That’s Life, the new women’s title from Bauer, will be on the newsstand from Next Monday, although it is being distributed free this week with Take A Break and TV Quick.

Editorial concentrates on readers true life, triumph over tragedy stories, with only a few pages being given over to health, cookery and fashion items. There are all the usual regular features including readers’ letters, gossip, problem pages and there are competitions worth up to £13,000 in prizes each week.

The magazine is in matt format and has a downmarket, nitty-gritty feel, using brash, shock value headlines, following in the style of its main rival, IPC’s Eva which was launched last year.

The magazine is based on a similar format to its stablemate, Take A Break, but is aimed at a slightly younger readership, with a target of a core audience of 20-44 year old housewives.

It has an initial print run of 4 million for the first issue, which will settle down to 1.5 million thereafter. It has a cover price of 42p, with a special introductory price of 20p for the first two issues.

It has 40 pages and there are only two pages carrying display ads.
