Twitter has 105 million registered users, co-founder Biz Stone has revealed at Chirp, the micro-blogging service’s first developer conference.

Stone said that the service gets 300,000 new users each day, with 180 million unique users a month.

According to the latest UKOM data, for February 2010, Twitter.com had around 3.7 million UK users during the month, down 12.5% on January.

The UKOM figures, available on MediaTel’s new online database, show comprehensive traffic data for over 10,000 sites, including unique audience, active reach and gender profile.

Among figures unveiled at Chirp, it was also revealed that 75% of traffic comes from outside of Twitter.com, while there are a massive 600 million search queries a day.

This is good news for the partners who have signed up to Twitter’s new Promoted Tweets, which lets  advertisers write Tweets which appear at the top of results when users search for a particular word.
