Nokia’s share of the mobile phone market dropped to 25% in Q1 2011, down from 30.6% this time last year, according to Gartner.
The report said users bought a total of 427.8 million phones in the first quarter (worldwide), up 19% on Q1 2010.
Smartphones dominated 23.6% of overall sales in the period, up 85% year on year.
Samsung experienced its strongest quarter ever, with the launch of the new model – Galaxy Tab.
Meanwhile, Apple sold 16.9 million units and doubled its sales of the iPhone year on year, and HTC sold 9.3 million units.
