All3Media launches smart TV app

All3Media has announced it is going to launch a connected TV app where users can access all content from the TV production company.

In a move that effectively shakes up the existing VOD TV infrastructure, this will mean that viewers can bypass services such as LoveFilm and Netflix and catch hits including Skins, Shameless and The Only Way is Essex via its TV app.

The app will be available on Samsung and LG smart TVs, with the service launching in the UK this week and the US next month.
