Despite significant declines recorded in March, all digital news platforms experienced good growth in April, except for the Independent.co.uk, which saw a -7.4% decline to just over one million daily average unique browsers – a contrast to being the only platform up in users last month.
The MailOnline continues to boast the most unique visits per day, up 8.9% period on period to just over 7.8 million.
The DMGT today released its financial report for the first half of the year, revealing a 61% growth in revenue for the MailOnline, which has injected the company with an extra £20 million in revenue.
However, it was the Mirror Digital Group that experienced the greatest percentage growth overall, netting almost 300,000 extra unique browsers per day in April, up 30.9% on March.
The Guardian.co.uk and Telegraph online had a healthy period of growth – up 11.1% and 5.8%, respectively – while the Sun online was up marginally by 1.1%, an extra 18,000 unique daily browsers.
