ABC Electronic has bolstered its senior management team with the appointment of Adam Read as head of new business with immediate effect.
Read will be responsible for new business development, ensuring ABC Electronic responds to both existing clients and to other organisations in advancing independent standards for the measurement of electronic media.
He joins the company with a background in media intelligence having worked with Red Sheriff Ltd as an account director, helping to evolve the company from a start up in Australia. He has also worked with Hitwise UK as a senior business development manager.
Last year was a successful one for ABC Electronic as more organisations embraced the standards being developed for electronic media measurement. Richard Foan, managing director of ABC Electronic said: “Adam will be instrumental in new business development, ensuring more organisations in more sectors can benefit from the standards in place for measurement of electronic media and the work ABC Electronic is doing in the industry.”
Read’s appointment comes in the wake of an attack on ABC by the Association of Online Publishers over its decision to exclude data for digital media from overall circulation figures (see Association Of Online Publishers Attacks ABC Digital Decision).
The industry body has written to ABC chief executive, Chris Boyd, to express its dissatisfaction at the decision to publish data for digital editions alongside circulations for print copies, but not in the headline figures of publication.
