ITV’s crime thriller finale attracted more than 7.6 million peak viewers at 9pm last night.
The second part of Above Suspicion secured the peak audience for ITV1 during the all-important 9pm to 10pm slot with 7.3 million average viewers and a 28.8% audience share.
At the same time, Channel 4’s Celebrity Big Brother just lost out to BBC One’s Traffic Cops with 3.3 million and 3.4 million average viewers respectively.
Channel 4’s reality programme has stepped up the game a little following disappointing ratings over the weekend, with just 2.7 million average viewers on Saturday and 2.8 million on Sunday, despite pulling in over 5.8 million peak viewers on its opening night (see Celebrity Big Brother kicks off with 5.8 million viewers).
Meanwhile, BBC Two wasn’t far behind its rivals last night, with Three Men in More Than One attracting 2.9 million average viewers and a 11.5% audience share between 9pm and 10pm.
Earlier on, ITV1’s Coronation Street knocked Eastenders off the soap top-spot with more than 11 million peak viewers and a 44.7% audience share between 7.30pm and 8pm, before slipping slightly in the second episode to 10.9 million peak viewers and a 40.9% audience share.
BBC One’s Eastenders, which saw Tanya insist she would take the wrap for her daughter Lauren, picked up 10 million average viewers and a 38.5% audience share between 8pm and 8.30pm.
