Adscene Announce Results – Up 50%
Adscene, the Canterbury based newspaper publisher, has released results for the half-year to November 27. Pre-tax profits increased by 50% from £946,000 to £1.42m.
This increase was attributed to an improvement in operating margins from 15 to 19.5%. Turnover was £6.4m, of which £6m came from advertising revenue, and the remainder from copy sales. Revenues climbed 18% in Kent, where all the titles are free; by 6% in Lincolnshire, where all but one are paid for, but fell by 7% in London, where half are paid-for and half free.
Revenue from recruitment advertising rose 41% across the group; from retail advertising 18% and motor advertising rose 11%.
