AOP appoints new co-chair

AOP Logo AOP has appointed Tim Faircliff, general manager of consumer media at Thomson Reuters, as the new co-chair to take up the role from March 2009 until March 2010.

Faircliff will work with current co-chair Alison Reay, who was appointed in October 2008.

Faircliff leads the sales, marketing and development of Thomson Reuters’ multimedia news and information products available on digital media platforms including Reuters.com, mobile applications and internet-delivered television.

Faircliff said: “Reuters has long supported AOP’s focused and varied efforts on behalf of online publishing. It is truly an honour to be appointed as co-Chair of such an impactful organisation, at such a crucial time for our industry.”

Simon Waldman, director of digital publishing at Guardian Newspapers Ltd and AOP chairman since 2006, has now formally stepped down from the role.

Reay concluded: “It’s been fantastic working with Simon, and on behalf of AOP, I’d like to thank him for his unswerving work, tenacity and enthusiasm for the association.”
