Smartclip and woomi in partnership with Mediacom have announced they have launched the UK’s first connected TV video advertising campaign with Audi. Smartclip will work with the media agency MediaCom and connected TV service woomi to serve video ads for their latest addition to the model range, the A7 Sportback.

The campaign is running from April to July and will use pre roll video ads for Audi running across various content on the woomi service. In addition, as part of the deal, woomi will host an Audi Channel with client supplied content.

woomi is a cloud-based, managed platform that reaches the largest possible audience across multiple devices, with a TV-centric, user-friendly interface. It is currently the only connected TV app capable of selling ads to its audience in the UK.

Shirlene Chandrapal, VP of connected TV, smartclip, comments: “With sales of connected TVs rising this advertising medium is set to have a tremendous impact on the market, enabling advertisers and planners to make their campaigns go further. This will help to increase the adoption of online video advertising in general and will help to position smartclip at the forefront of innovation in the market.”

Dan Wood, Investment Director, Mediacom states: “It is essential that we enable our clients to keep at the forefront of media innovation and futures development. This partnership is an excellent example of just that – a cutting edge solution for a cutting edge brand.”

Eve Tyers, National Communications Manager, Audi: “Audi are always looking for cutting edge ways to launch new vehicles and we are delighted to be the first manufacturer to embrace this new and exciting platform”
