BBC To Challenge Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush
BBC2 is planning a Saturday night show to challenge Channel 4’s successful Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush. Michael Jackson, controller of BBC2, speaking yesterday at a lunch to celebrate 30 years of BBC2, said that he would like to create “A sort of post-modern That Was The Week That Was”.
ITV is going to interrupt its schedule on Sunday 1st May to air a debate on the issue of violence on television. The 75 minute programme will be produced by Granada and shown at 10.45pm. ‘TV Violence – Will It Change Your Life?’ will take the form of a tribunal. The case for tighter controls will be presented by David Alton MP.
