Border TV Profits Hit £2m

Border TV today announced that its pre-tax profits have risen 19% from £1.933m in 1995 to £2.301m this year (year ended 30th April 1996). This was on the back of turnover increasing from £11.608m to £12.643m.

This success is built upon a 6% growth in television advertising revenues and a full year’s advertising revenue for Century Radio. Programme sales advanced to £263,000, a significant increase on 1995’s figure of £71,000.

James Graham, chairman and chief executive, hinted that Border is looking to own another radio station. He said: “We continue to monitor opportunities in the radio sector which, as we have witnessed in commercial television, appears to be increasingly dominated by major groupings.”
