The boxing fight between Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn on Saturday night drew 16.5m viewers. This represents ITV’s third highest audience for a sports event after England’s 1990 World Cup match against the Republic of Ireland, and the Bruno-Bugner fight in 1987.
The Bruno v Lewis fight shown on Sky Sports attracted 856,000 viewers, pushing Sky Sport’s weekly share of viewing up to 5%.
