Camelot And Press To Follow Guidelines On Winners

The Office of the National Lottery yesterday published its investigation into the naming by the press of a winner requesting privacy; new measures are to be taken by both Camelot and the press. Winners will be advised on how to behave after a win, and Camelot should provide ways of validating winning tickets without requiring the holders to visit buildings likely to be watched by the press. The Press Complaints Commission said yesterday that if National Lottery winners wanted to remain anonymous this should be respected.
