Capital Restructures Radio Operations
Capital Radio announced yesterday the restructuring of its divisions in preparation for further growth and the launch of digital radio.
Three distinct areas will be formed to be overseen by a regional managing director: Capital stations in Birmingham, Oxford and Cardiff will form a Western region; a Southern region will include stations in Kent, Sussex and Hampshire; the London region will include Capital Gold and 95.8 Capital FM and Xfm.
Directors of local stations will become managing directors of their stations and the Western region will be headed by Julie Fair, who will retain her position as managing director of Birmingham’s stations.
Sally Oldham will be responsible for London stations while retaining overall responsibility for the group’s radio division until a Southern director is appointed next year. Commenting on the restructure she said: “These changes allow the company to grow whether through acquisition or our digital strategy. It will enhance the synergy and provide career paths for our senior management team.”
