Channel One has begun transmitting live pictures of its internet programme Digital World on the internet. The experiment began this week when constantly updated live still pictures were transmitted onto Digital World’s Web pages. Channel One is to broadcast two and a half hours of Wimbledon highlights at 9.30 every night, for the two weeks of the tournament. BSkyB has lost out in the deal which gives Channel One exclusive secondary rights for three years.
Roy Jeans, general manager of Zenith Media, is to become managing director of AMRA from the beginning of July. Jeans had previously been in discussions with Mediaforce but has now decided to join AMRA. Mike McCormack, AMRA’s current MD becomes chief executive.
