Chic Launch
Hamerville Magazines is moving into the women’s magazine market with the launch of Chic on October 21. It will be a bi-monthly lifestyle title aimed at the 40-55 age group and will have an initial print run of 200,000.
This is the second launch to target the older woman. TMP Communications plans to launch Encore in the autumn with a print run of 75,000.
Chic will be edited by Joyce Hopkirk who worked on the launches of Cosmopolitan and British Elle. Hopkirk said that the new magazine “Will address this discriminating generation directly and offer her ideas and advice to help her make that fresh start possible.”
Hamerville is predicting a settle down circulation of 120,000 for the magazine, which will have a cover price of £1.75.
Existing women’s monthlies whose readership falls predominantly into the 35-54 age group include Family Circle, Good Housekeeping and Living.
