Chrysalis Re-Launches LBC On FM Wavelength

Chrysalis has today re-launched its London based speech station, LBC, on its new 97.3 FM frequency.

It is understood that the re-launch will be supported by an outdoor ad campaign, which will run across London from the 13 January to encourage Londoners to give the new-look station another try.

Chrysalis acquired London News Radio, which encompasses the LBC and NewsDirect radio brands, earlier last year in a bid to strengthen its audience share in the lucrative London market (see Chrysalis Strengthens London Offering With LNR Acquisition).

Chrysalis followed the acquisition with a number of high-profile signings: Caroline Feraday was poached from BBC Radio Five Live and Howard Hughes from rival London station, Capital FM. Jane Moore, who is best known for her weekly column in The Sun, has also been signed up for the station’s breakfast show (see Jane Moore To Join LBC Breakfast Show).

Earlier this month Chrysalis secured a deal to launch its Galaxy radio service on Switch Digital’s DAB multiplexes across London and central Scotland (see Chrysalis Brings Galaxy To London And Scotland).
