Classic FM Rolls Out London Opportunities For Advertisers
Classic FM is to launch Classic London this summer, giving advertisers the opportunity to target the London commercial radio audience.
Manning Gottlieb Media (MGM) is working with Classic FM to advise on the positioning and roll out of Classic London to advertisers and media buyers.
Classic FM, which is owned by GWR, has a weekly reach of 11.3% in London, nearly 70% of which are ABC1s. Classic London will involve the transmission of a set of adverts different to those broadcast nationally, which will specifically target its London audience, as from the beginning of July.
Nick Manning, managing partner at MGM, said that Classic London would pose a serious threat to current London TV, press and outdoor options and commented: “The industry has been waiting for this for some time. Not only will this redefine the London market, it will expose the relative shortage of advertising options that deliver the true sphere of influence of the London region.”
