Connected Consumer Awards deadline ends today
2014 Grand Prix winners, Carat
The deadline for this year’s Connected Consumer Awards has been extended to 18 March, giving you an extra week to get your entries into shape for the prestigious event next month.
The Connies, now in their third year, are held in celebration of those pioneering new advertising and commercial opportunities in the connected industry, and are aimed at organisations that are devising and powering connected strategies – from media owners and agencies, to consultancies and technology providers.
But for the first time, and to reflect the growing popularity and success of the annual event, this year’s awards will take place on their own during a prestigious lunch at Banking Hall in central London on 23 April.
Chaired by media consultant Graham Lovelace, the nominees will be placed in the safe hands of a number of hand-picked media experts – including Research the Media’s Richard Marks; RadiumOne managing director Rupert Staines; Stacy Anklam, vice president of client solutions, AutoGraph inc; and Mediatel Newsline’s editor David Pidgeon.
This year’s categories include:
Best Research Project/Initiative
Best Use of Connected Data
Connected Campaign of The Year
Connected Agency of The Year
Connected Media Owner of The Year
Best Technology Breakthrough
Connected Media Device/Software Application
Connected Content Service of The Year
“The Connies are back for a third year, with several new categories, esteemed judges with deep expertise in all the key areas, and – I’m delighted to say – a special awards lunch in London’s prestigious Banking Hall on 23 April,” said Graham Lovelace, chair of the judges and media consultant.
“The Connies are unique in recognising and celebrating initiatives that target and reach connected consumers. As we all know, a plethora of connected screens – smartphones, tablets, TVs – over the past decade has changed the way we access and share media, communicate and shop.
“There’s a great deal of experimentation and innovation going on. What The Connies have done is showcase those initiatives that are not only working, but also have the potential to change the way we do things.”
2014 saw media agency Carat, pictured above, dominate the proceedings for its work on Very.co.uk – taking both the Grand Prix prize as well as the trophy for the Most Creative Campaign.
When asked what the judges will be looking for this year, Lovelace, director at Lovelace Consulting, a convergent media specialist, said: “We’re looking at the way brands and agencies are adapting their communication strategies to take account of shifting consumer behaviour, and how media research is rising to the challenge of measuring consumption across multiple devices and platforms.
“We’re also looking at the ways media owners are exploiting new opportunities to monetise connected media engagement, as well as the connected media devices and software applications that are powering these new experiences and monetisation opportunities.
“So if you’re a brand, a media agency, a media owner, a service provider, a research agency, consultancy, a device maker or technology provider that’s active in this highly exciting and fast-moving space then this is your golden opportunity to tell us, and the media world, how you’re addressing the rise of the connected consumer.
“Come on, don’t be shy – shout about the great work you’re doing, work that could one day bring about industry change!”
This year’s awards will be followed by Mediatel’s annual Connected Consumer Conference in June – an all-day event that will see a number of key industry players discuss and debate the current state of the industry.
