Direct Mail Volumes Increases In 1994

Over 2,700 million items of direct mail were sent in 1994, according to figures just released by the Royal Mail. This is an increase of 11% on last year and an increase of 116% over the past 10 years. Expenditure on the medium reached £1.049 million.

The Royal Mail has begun a Summer campaign to promote the benefits of using direct mail marketing. They are conducting their own mailshot to 20,000 potential users, which highlights the medium’s ability to enhance messages carried by advertising in other media such, as television and press.
