Whilst the report in today’s Evening Standard regarding Trevor East, Head of Sport at ITV, moving to Sky TV is correct, it would appear that the move will not infact take place for six month’s due to contractual difficulties.
An ITV Network Centre Spokesperson told MediaTel this afternoon;”Earlier this week Trevor East asked to resign from his position with immediate effect. This request has not been granted. Under the terms of his contract with the ITV Network Centre we require him to give 6 months notice. We fully intend to hold him to his contract.”
East, when at Sky, is expected to mastermind the company’s campaign to ‘steal’ the Rugby World Cup coverage from the terrestrial channel.
