Emap has secured a multi-platform deal with Clear Channel Entertainment to promote Linkin Park’s forthcoming UK tour.
The deal is the first of its kind between Emap and a tour promoter and includes a range of activity on Kerrang! brand properties including Kerrang.com, Aloud.com, Kerrang TV, Kerrang Digital and the K!Text! SMS facility.
Commenting on the arrangement, Jayne Simpson, concert manager at Emap Performance Interactive, said: “This is a ground-breaking strategic partnership and a major breakthrough in marketing artists with Emap. The strength of one of Emap’s foremost multi-platform brands, together with Clear Channel’s forward-thinking will push the boundaries of marketing artists and tours.”
Meanwhile, Emap has also announced that it has awarded the £4 million creative account for its Big City radio network, which consists of eight local commercial radio stations in cities across the North of England, to Karmarama.
The account was previously held by Faulds Advertising, but the move does not affect the media communications planning account, which is held by Naked, or the brand planning account held by Sparkler.
Emap’s brand director for Big City Network, Brendan Moffett, said: “We want to continue building audiences with an innovative advertising programme focusing on the unique content and output of the individual stations. Karmarama have provided an exciting creative response.”
Karnarama was launched in 2001 by former founding Creative Directors of St Luke’s Naresh Ramchandani and Dave Buonaguidi.
