Express Editor Leaves

Sir Nicholas Lloyd, editor of the Daily Express has resigned, and will work until the end of November. He commented, “I have enjoyed the privilege of editing the Daily Express for almost ten years. It’s been great fun but now I feel that the time has come to seek a new and different challenge.”

In the years since he has been editor, the Express’ circulation has fallen from around 1.8 million to 1. 26 million (Apr-Sep’95 ABC), whilst the Daily Mail’s circulation has remained fairly constant at around 1.8 million. The move also follows speculation that United News and Media, owner of the Express titles is seeking a buyer.
