Faulds Restructures In The Face Of Tough Competition

Edinburgh-based advertising agency, Faulds Advertising, has restructured its operations to create five new divisions. This follows what media director, Sara Maclean, describes as a “hard year”.

The five new divisions at Faulds each has its own specific remit. Classic Faulds will offer the traditional creative service; Total Faulds provides a ‘total communications package’ incorporating all aspects of a client’s campaign; Fast Faulds is for clients which require fast turnaround, such as banks and retail; Future Faulds is dedicated to new media projects – an area which Maclean believes should integrated into a client’s overall promotions.

The fifth department is Media Faulds, headed by Maclean. Media Faulds is essentially the company’s media operation gone independent. Maclean says that it will provide an independent service whilst having the other divisions from which to source skills. She says that Faulds is endeavouring to offer “something different” from most agencies, and that it intends to offer clients services across the whole advertising process.

This restructuring effects a number of role changes. Jim Faulds will move from management to chairman of the overall business which includes creative designers Redpath, and multimedia communications company Magellan. Dennis Chester will become managing director of Faulds.

Christine Tulloch is promoted to marketing director of the five Faulds divisions; Sara Maclean fills Tulloch’s previous role as media director.
