FHM Grabs International Campaigns Worth £2 Million

FHM Magazine Cover FHM International has announced over £2 million worth of new international advertising deals, spanning seven of the flagship title’s international territories, including its first European cross-territory deal with Buena Vista International (BVI).

The company’s latest international promotions also include a campaign across FHM US and FHMUS.com with ringtone and mobile phone provider, Transact.

The BVI activity will see FHM UK featuring extensive editorial and advertorial content in the June issue, offering exclusive features on the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. This will include interviews and exclusives from the directors, the special effects team and lead actor, Martin Freeman.

The deal also extends across FHM.com to include movie trailers and reviews of the film on the movie channel, rolling out in the July issue of FHM Germany and across the FHM European network through the summer.

The Transact campaign will see FHM as a media partner, launching into the US with two pages in every issue of FHM US for the next 15 months dedicated to promoting Transacr’s unique mobile content offering, with the activity extending onto FHMUS.com.

Commenting on the new initiative, Rory Bett, FHM International’s commercial director said: “The FHM International sales team is focused on enabling advertisers to harness the global power of the FHM brand.”

He continued: “One way in which we have delivered this goal is by expanding the global power of the FHM brand and beneficial advertising relationships in the UK with clients such as BVI.”

Robert Mitchell, senior vice president of Buena Vista International added: “FHM has evolved from the UK’s top-selling men’s magazine to a truly global brand over recent years. The approach of FHM International Sales has enabled us to access the elusive 16-34 year old male demographic creatively and across multiple territories.”

The FHM brand is one of Emap’s most exploited properties, with a wide-reaching print and online presence, as well as the recently launched FHM Music TV, giving the magazine a dedicated TV brand extension for the first time (see FHM To Tempt Readers With Music TV Extension). FHM Music TV is the first non-music Emap brand to be launched as a television channel, sitting alongside other Emap music TV channels, Kerrang!, Kiss, Magic, The Box, The Hits and Q.
