Flytxt Launches Targeted Film Promotion

Flytxt has launched an interactive marketing campaign in conjunction with independent film distributor, Metrodome Distribution, to promote a new action-comedy film “The Wash”.

The campaign will feature interactive SMS messages competitions alongside posters and television commercials on MTV and E4. The promotion will focus on the films target audience, 15-25 year old urban-living music lovers. Those who enter the competition will be placed on a database of mobile numbers which will be used to remind them to go and see the film, as well as providing them with future promotional details on DVD and video releases. Tom Grievson, promotions manager of Metrodome Distribution, said: “We are excited about using SMS for the first time to promote one of our releases and also about the prospect of capturing valuable data for future promotions.” The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) recently amended its code of conduct to offer mobile phone users greater protection against unsolicited SMS adverts.(see MMA Amends Code Of Conduct To Protect Against Spam)
