Freeserve Embarks On Major New Ad Campaign

Freeserve has announced plans to launch a multimillion pound advertising campaign to promote its AnyTime service.

The campaign, which begins on Boxing Day, will extend the existing hippy theme (see

The initial TV activity will be supported by press, cinema, radio and online advertising and through a substantial direct mail campaign. Freeserve will also continue to run promotions with its key distribution partners and will, for the first time, use tube card advertising panels on the London Underground.

Commenting on the campaign, Keith Hawkins, Freeserve’s managing director of marketing said: “It’s a great time of year to be introducing such an attractive offer, with lots of people going online for the first time and if they’re online already, perhaps thinking about switching their ISP. With such a competitive price offer, a great product and a fantastic new TV ad, we are confident that Freeserve is in a really strong position going into one of the ISP sector’s peak selling seasons.”

The move has dampened speculation that the UK’s largest internet service provider would be renamed Wanadoo by its French owners in the New Year, in a campaign expected to cost the company £30 million (see Freeserve Could Rebrand As Wanadoo).
