The Radio Authority yesterday awarded the regional Independent Local Radio licence for the Severn Estuary area to Galaxy Radio, which currently holds a licence for Bristol. This is the first of five regional licences which the Authority intends to award this year and it will come into operation after September 1 1994. Other stations bidding for the licence included Coast Country FM, Select and WBLS Radio.
