Paul Gambaccini is to return to the BBC in October 1995 to present Radio 3’s morning programme, produced by independent company Mentorn Radio. The programme will run every weekday from 9.00 am to 10.00am.
After 3 years presenting The Classic Countdown on Classic FM, Gambaccini will be lead presenter of the new programme and will be joined by co- presenters Richard Baker and Catriona Young.
From October, Radio 3 will be opening its network one hour earlier at 6.00am, with On Air extending to 3 hours from 6.00am to 9.00am. Composer of the Week, currently broadcast at 9.00am – 10.00am will move to 12noon.
