Granada Brings Energy To I’m A Celebrity Reality Show

Granada Enterprises has secured V Energy Drink as the £1 million sponsor of the second series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, which begins on ITV1 next week.

The deal, which was negotiated by Media Insight, includes full broadcast sponsorship of the live series every evening on ITV1, plus extra uncut footage on ITV2.

The package also includes an online branding campaign on itv.com and itv.com/celebrity, as well as sponsorship of the SMS and phone messages for the voting.

The fist series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here proved a surprise success for ITV1 and achieved an audience of almost 11 million viewers at its peak in September (see below). ITV1 is undoubtedly hoping that the second series, which will again be presented by Ant and Dec, will prove equally popular.

Celebrities confirmed to take part in the show include Danniella Westbrook, Wayne Sleep, Antony Worrall Thompson, Sian Lloyd, Phil Tufnell and John Fashanu.

Commenting on the deal, Leigh Moscrip, sponsorship executive at Granada Enterprises, said: “We are delighted to bring a new sponsor to ITV particularly as there is such a strong creative link and feel that V Energy Drink will certainly benefit the amount of publicity it will receive.”

Earlier this week Granada Enterprises launched a new initiative to highlight the benefits of television advertising to smaller clients, in a bid to stem declining ad revenues at ITV (see Granada Promotes TV Ads To Smaller Clients).
