Granada Gets Fruity With J2O Frank Skinner Sponsorship

Granada Enterprises has secured Britvic’s J2O adult fruit juice drink as the first ever sponsor of The Frank Skinner Show, in a deal estimated to be worth around £1.5 million.
The sponsorship is designed to raise awareness of the brand amongst the core 25 to 35-year-old market and is intended to build on its recent relationship with the London Comedy Festival and Jongleurs comedy club.
The deal, negotiated on behalf of Britvic by Broadmind, follows the recent television ad campaign, which positioned the drink as a more practical alternative to alcohol by showing intoxicated people in embarrassing situations.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Tanya Krempel, sponsorship executive at Granada Enterprises, said: “We are very excited to have J2O sponsor The Frank Skinner Show and believe that its strong link with comedy will make this a very successful sponsorship. This will be the show’s first sponsor and we look forward to working together to fully leverage the association.”
Richard Collins, director of brands at Britvic Soft Drinks, added: “J2O is a highly successful brand and a link up with a hugely popular comedian like Frank Skinner provides not only an excellent brand fit, but a fantastic launch-pad for our J2O 03-04 comedy programme.”
The Frank Skinner Show will return to ITV with a range of celebrity guests for its third outing on 29 September. Viewing figures for the show dipped during the last series, but it regularly attracts an average of around 5.6 million viewers.
Earlier this month Granada Enterprises secured Unilever’s PG Tips brand as the exclusive sponsor of a new animated ITV series called Creature Comforts. The new series is based on Nick Park’s Heat Electric ads from the early nineties, which featured a range of animated animal characters with the unscripted voices of the general public (see Granada Secures PG Tips To Back Creature Comforts Series).
