Granada Secures Bliss To Sponsor Footballers’ Wives

Granada Enterprises has announced that Bliss, the new wine-based ready-to-drink product from Scottish Courage, will make its television debut as exclusive broadcast sponsor of the third series of ITV’s Footballers’ Wives.

The deal, negotiated through Starcom MediaVest, includes on-air credits for the programme, which will be screened across the ITV network this spring.

The last series of Footballers’ Wives attracted an average audience of around ..million and performed exceptionally well amongst the lucrative and highly sought after 18 to 34 year-old demographic.

Commenting on the deal, Ella Fletcher, sponsorship executive at Granada Enterprises, said: “This sponsorship package is a really positive example of a perfect synergy between the two brands. This is a great opportunity for Bliss to associate themselves with a playful and provocative programme, which appeals to their target audience.”

Alison Todd, sales development controller, Scottish Courage, added: “There is a tremendous synergy between the audiences of Footballers’ Wives and Bliss and the sponsorship provides us with a unique opportunity to marry Bliss’s brand positioning with the excitement and glamour of Footballers’ Wives.”

According to ITV, the third series of Footballers’ Wives brings fresh challenges for the Earls Park players and their wives. Kicking off in Thailand, it will also have new characters alongside firm favourites. There will also be an appearance by glamour model Jordan.

Earlier this week Granada Enterprises announced that it had ended its deadlock with Cadbury Trebor Bassett and had persuaded the confectionery giant to renew its £10 million sponsorship of Coronation Street (see Cadbury Renews £10 Million Coronation Street Sponsorship).
