Granada Secures Standard Life For Drama Sponsorship
![]()
Granada Enterprises has announced that Standard Life is launching its first foray into television advertising and is to sponsor a variety of major dramas on ITV1 over the next year.
The package will see the assurance company become the exclusive sponsor of the next series of William and Mary, Fat Friends and a new series called Life Begins by Cold Feet writer, Mike Bullen
The deal was negotiated by Leigh Alexander and Rebecca O’Malley at Granada Enterprises, along with Nick Stewart at FeatherBrooksBank on behalf of Standard Life. The campaign will include sponsorship credits and break bumpers featuring the strapline: “I like Standard Life”.
Commenting on the campaign, Pam Hyder, advertising manager at Standard Life, said: “The planning of our current campaign revolves around media and creative working in tandem to create exceptionally relevant pieces of communication with our target consumer.”
He added: “Given that the core creative communication centres on “I like Standard Life”, we were keen to create media opportunities which reflected this sentiment – programme sponsorship, and indeed the drama we are sponsoring, is just such an environment.”
Granada Enterprises recently secured One.Tel to sponsor ITV1’s coverage of this year’s British Comedy Awards. The deal saw the telecomms company become the main broadcast sponsor of the award ceremony on ITV1, as well as two shows on ITV2 (see Granada Secures One.Tel For ITV Comedy Sponsorship).
