Granada Enterprises has secured Woolworths to sponsor ITV’s annual National Music Awards show.
The show, which is to be shown next week, will be broadcast on both ITV1 and ITV2. The event, which is in its second year, was held at London’s Carling Apollo and was hosted by Amanda Holden.
The deal was negotiated by Tanya Krempel at Granada Enterprises and Tony Waite, at Alliance, the sponsorship division of ZenithOptimedia.
Commenting on the deal, Mark Trinder, head of brand communications at Woolworths, said: ” As the UK’s leading Entertainment retailer and home of chart music, the sponsorship of the National Music Awards makes perfect sense for Woolworths. This initiative will complement our heavyweight Christmas advertising across music, DVD, videos and games.”
Tanya Krempel added: “We are delighted that Woolworths are sponsoring the National Music Awards and hope that this is the beginning of a continued association.”
Granada Enterprises recently announced that Network Q is extending its sponsorship of ITV’s flagship quiz show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, with the launch of a free game on the programme’s website (see Granada Secures Network Q For Extended Millionaire Deal).
