Granada To Launch Soap Channel Granada, in association with BSkyB, are to launch ‘Granada Platinum’ early in the New Year. With access to both Granada and LWT libraries the channel will be offering programmes such as The Professionals, Dempsey and Makepeace and The Gentle Touch, along with Coronation Street reruns. It is expected to trasmit via the Astra 1C transponder, in the slot vacated by The Family Channel.
Granada Platinum is the first of an expected four channels to come from the Midlands franchise holder. Of the other 3 channels, one is likely to be a ‘lifestyle’ channel aimed at women, and another aimed at men.
