Hachette Shakes Up Women’s Titles

Hachette Filipacchi has shaken up its women’s titles with the introduction of a new commercial structure and director in an attempt to provide better targeted advertising solutions.

Hachette’s commercial structure will be split into two divisions, its women’s titles; B, Red, Elle and Elle Deco, and its teen entertainment titles; Inside Soap, All About Soap, tvhits!, Sugar and ElleGirl.

Cath Ware, who will join Hachette as commercial director across its women’s titles, commented: “The new structure will enable us to have the flexibility to put both energy and focus behind the individual brands as well as having the ability of offering a one stop-shop to clients and agencies across the whole group.”

Hachette has also announced new ad directors for each of its women’s titles. Claire Dempster will join as ad director of Red, from her previous role of commercial director of Period Living, Top Sante and Elle Deco at Emap. Jacqui Greeves is Ad director of Elle, Michelle McQueen will take the same role at Elle Deco and Lisa Tookey will become commercial director of B.

In addition Jhan Rushton will become promotions manager of Elle and Elle Deco and, temporarily, Red magazine.

Vivien Cotterill, managing director of Hachette Filipacchi UK, commented: “We want to ensure that we provide targeted advertising and business solutions that are easily implemented but that we also maintain a relationship between the individual magazine brands and the clients and agencies. I believe that this structure will deliver that promise. We are currently recruiting for a General Manager Sales, a role that will be pivotal in the growth and development of Hachette UK ”

Emap also recently announced a shake up of its women’s titles, following the ending of its joint ventures with Hachette (see Emap Shakes-Up Women and Youth Titles).
