Harley Street Goes Out Without A Bang

Harley Street ITV1’s glossy medical drama, Harley Street, failed to pull in viewers to its final episode last night, only managing to gain a 12% audience share with 2.7 million average viewers.

The hour-long programme between 9pm and 10pm has never been hit, only attracting a million more viewers in its first week, despite the hype (see On The Fiddle Leaves Harley Street Feeling Sick).

ITV1’s poor ratings slipped below the other main channels at 9pm, with Channel 4’s Big Brother daily episode coming out on top with 3.1 million viewers throughout the one-hour slot.

BBC Two’s Mock the Week banked an impressive 3.2 million peak viewers between 9.15pm and 9.30pm, while its new comedy The Cup pulled in 1.7 million between 9.30pm and 10pm.

BBC One’s new programme, SuperDoctors, with Professor Robert Winston, attracted 2.76 million viewers with a 12.6% audience share, just ahead of Harley Street.

Meanwhile, BBC One remained in front throughout the day again with it’s Olympics coverage, holding almost a 38% audience share between 12.45pm and 5.15pm.
