Herald Newspapers has bought a number of Thomson Free Newspaper titles for an undisclosed sum, it has been revealed.
The Stevenage, St Albans, Welwyn, Hoddesdon, Bishop’s Stortford and Harlow Herald & Posts will all be taken over by the group at the end of next week. Head of Herald Newspapers Keith Barwell sold the same titles to Thomson in 1988 and claims that he is interested in extending the deal to include other free papers.
