Hi-Tech Cleans Up With OAA Bar And Washroom Account

Hi-Tech Solutions, the bar media specialist, has been selected as the sole provider of bar and washroom poster advertising for the Outdoor Advertising Association’s current promotional campaign.

The Proving Outdoor Works campaign, which launched earlier this week to demonstrate the power and effectiveness of outdoor advertising (see New Campaign Uses Pop Art To Promote Outdoor), will see Hi-Tech provide 1,800 washroom panels in 600 bars across the country for two weeks from 15 August.

The three creatives, designed by AMV BBDO, will support the pop art theme of the the wider six-figure campaign and will feature the words Pow, Zapp and Bam, alongside the existing strapline: “For impact posters are invincible”.

Commenting on the initiative, Alan James, chief executive of the OAA, said: “The campaign objective is to communicate the power of outdoor to media agencies, clients and creative alike. How better to do this than by supporting the other outdoor activity with a heavy weight washroom poster campaign in bars across the country.”

Hi-Tech Solutions has also been awarded associate membership of the OAA with immediate effect, in recognition for its accountability, research and extensive range of products.

The company’s managing director, Rick Weir, said: “We are delighted to be the first bar media washroom poster specialist to be awarded membership of the OAA and are very excited about the forthcoming campaign. It’s great to see the outdoor industry working together.”

Bar and washroom advertising is becoming an increasingly popular way to target socially active 18 to 25 year-olds in a captive environment and TGI claims that over 95% of this age group visit bars and clubs each week (see NewsLine Column: Bar-Room Branding).

Earlier this week responsible drinking organisation, The Portman Group, announced plans to launch an ambient media campaign that will use talking posters in pub toilets to promote sensible drinking (see Talking Poster Campaign To Promote Sensible Drinking).
