i-level Launches Dedicated Search Marketing Division

i-level, the independently-owned digital agency, has further expanded its offering to advertisers with the launch of a new specialist division dedicated entirely to search targeted marketing.

The agency has recruited Amanda Jones (pictured), formely head of search at Outrider, to head-up the new division, which has been created in response to the growing role of pay-per-click marketing in the media mix.

Paid-for-search listings now account for more than 36% of the total online advertising market and the Internet Advertising Bureau expects growth to continue throughout 2004 as marketers realise the potential of the internet as a direct marketing medium (see Online Expected To See Revenue Reach £350 Million).

A number of significant developments are expected in the search sector over the next few months including the introduction of localisation and personalisation functions, as well as the expansion of shopping search engines such as Kelkoo and Dealtime.

Commenting on the new division, i-level’s managing director, Faith Carthy, said: “Search features highly on most clients’ digital marketing programmes. i-level has recognised that as consumers’ search habits become increasingly sophisticated, it makes sense to create a specialist search division in order to maximise the opportunities it offers.”

Jones added: “i-level has not just recognised how powerful a direct response medium search is, but has embraced it by making it a core part of their offering to clients. They are true professionals of digital and I am very excited about joining them.”

Earlier this year i-level appointed former Nightfly planning director, Nick Wiggin, to lead its new mobile marketing division, which sits alongside the existing planning and buying, content distribution and research operations (see i-level Appoints Marks As First Ever Marketing Director).

The agency also recently launched a new online rating points system that will allow marketers to compare the reach of their online advertising campaigns with their traditional media activity (see i-level Launches Online Rating Points System).
