Internet Shopping Increasing
Research published by NOP shows that over 150,000 people have used the Internet to purchase products and services in the past six months.
The growing propensity to shop over the Internet is shown by the survey of 1,000 users: 9% said they would consider buying holidays through the Internet; 11% would consider buying books; 12% software; 9% CDs; 10% computer hardware and peripherals; 5% videos and 5% clothes.
Other findings show that 75% of UK users are satisfied with the Internet and 3 out of 5 find it ‘fun to use’. Rob Lawson, of the NOP Network, said “The Internet is still very much in its early stages as a commercial tool but our research suggests that the volume of those willing to consider a purchase in the next six months is almost three times those purchasing in the last six months…A further 3 million UK adults intend to use the Internet in the coming year.”
