IPC Advertising MD to step down

Caroline McDevitt Caroline McDevitt, managing director of IPC Advertising, is to leave the company at the end of the year.

Evelyn Webster, managing director, IPC Connect, will take on day-to-day operational responsibility for McDevitt’s role, in addition to her current position, from 1 January 2009.

Sylvia Auton, IPC Media CEO, said: “Caroline told me a while ago that she would like to start the new year seeking new challenges, and I accepted her decision reluctantly.

“Caroline has made a real impact on IPC Advertising, improving both the way we do business with our clients and agencies and the effectiveness of our sales offering. She has been an enormous asset to the IPC Media board and we will be sorry to say goodbye.”

McDevitt said: “I have really enjoyed my time at IPC, particularly the opportunity to work with a really talented group of people. I believe I am leaving a strong legacy and a committed and tenacious sales team that offers the strongest sales proposition in publishing, and across several platforms.

“But it’s the right time for me to pursue other business opportunities and I appreciate Sylvia enabling me to pick my moment to make this announcement. In the meantime it will be business as usual.”
