IPC Announces Management Shake-Up At Country & Leisure
![]()
The recently appointed managing director of IPC Country and Leisure Media, Evelyn Webster, has changed the management board by making two key appointments.
The shake-up will see Fiona Dent, who is currently commercial director of Web User, become publishing director of both Country Life magazine and IPC’s equestrian portfolio. Dent joined IPC in 1992 and has held a variety of senior marketing positions, helping to launch Web User in 2001.
Angela O’Farrell will take up the new position of marketing and publishing director across the country and leisure sector. In particular, she will broaden her existing marketing role to take on publishing responsibility for Web User and Hi-Fi News.
O’Farrell joined IPC in 2001 as head of marketing for Web User and the following year became marketing director across the country and leisure portfolio. Prior to joining IPC, O’Farrell held a number of senior roles within ad agencies including Modem Media and HHCL & Partners.
The new appointments follow Webster’s recent promotion, which was the result of a management shake-up triggered by the announcement that Linda Genower was retiring as managing director of IPC Connect. This came a week after the appointment of Sylvia Auton as chief executive of the division (see Genower Steps Down As Head Of Women’s Weeklies At IPC).
IPC recently announced plans to launch a cross-magazine ad campaign to promote McDonald’s New Tastes Menu across titles including Now, Essentials and Woman (see IPC Secures McDonald’s For Cross Title Ad Campaign).
