IPC Backs What’s On TV With Biggest Ever Promotion

IPC tx has launched its biggest ever consumer marketing campaign to promote its weekly What’s On TV magazine.
The promotion runs for six weeks and gives readers the chance to ‘Live For Free In 2003’ by winning a range of prizes including a family car, free holidays for a year, £15,000 towards a mortgage and a weekly grocery allowance.
The ‘collect and win’ promotion is part of a major consumer and trade marketing campaign designed to maximise revenue from the TV listings sector. It will run in IPC’s Chat and will be supported by a two-week nationwide TV campaign.
The latest ABC results for the six months ending in July 2002 show that What’s On TV has seen its circulation fall by 2.5% year on year to 1,666,475, down from 1,709,092 in the same period the previous year.

However the magazine has performed well since its launch in 1991 and is currently the highest circulating paid-for title in the sector, ahead of BBC Worldwide’s Radio Times, with 1,155,064 and H Bauer’s TV Choice, which circulates at 861,810.
